APPG

The APPG for the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative is chaired by Anthony Mangnall MP. It seeks to continue the work carried out by the previous APPG on PSVI by finding new ways to prevent sexual violence, support survivors and bring those who commit these crimes to justice.

The APPG results from the work of the former Foreign Secretary Lord Hague of Richmond and United Nations Special Envoy of the High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie, who set up the Initiative in 2012.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused dramatic increases in levels of gender-based violence, meaning that PSVI is now more important than ever.
